Ed Murray is our 2021 Honoree of the Year.

This shiny shamrock of an Irish Catholic started our Y golf tournament 42 years ago with some of his brother’s movie star buddies. (John Candy and that hilarious ‘Where’s the Beef’ lady to highlight a couple of winners.) We never forget where we came from and losing Ed in late 2020 has left a rather large gap. There will never be another like him. We miss his irreverent and heartfelt roasts, the love he had for his wife, Lisa, his love of his family and his great pride in his heritage.  To honor him we’d love to highlight and fundraise for the fellow Santa Maria nonprofit, Neurofighters/Neuroboxing Santa Maria that April Sargeant coaches to help those living with neurological conditions like Parkinson’s disease, which Ed lived with for 5 years before his passing. The program helps its ‘Fighters’, like Ed, who was a very active member of the program, live more active, productive and longer lives through boxing, functional exercise and balance work. 100% of your donation and contributions will go directly to Neurofighters/Neuroboxing Santa Maria in Ed’s honor. You can contribute online, right HERE online, or, join us that evening for dinner if you prefer to support in person.  The more the merrier!
